The Syrian-Chinese Business Council welcomes economic actors with direct ties to the Syrian and Chinese markets. Membership categories include:
• Syrian and Chinese investors
• Business men and women
• Managers of Syrian-Chinese companies or companies operating between the two countries
• Economic experts and consultants
• Presidents and members of relevant professional unions and associations
• Companies and economic institutions with activities related to Syrian-Chinese cooperation
Important note: Not everyone accepted as a Council member becomes a General Assembly member.
The Council adopts a clear organizational structure that distinguishes between membership types:
General Assembly Members:
Only members who meet the conditions specified in the bylaws are officially accepted into the General Assembly and participate in its work according to approved legal frameworks.
Council Members and Associates:
Can be accepted as Council members, or within specialized clubs and programs (industrial, commercial, investment, knowledge), without being General Assembly members.
This structure ensures:
• Disciplined institutional representation
• Flexibility in engaging expertise and talent
• Clear powers and responsibilities
The joining process includes the following stages:
1. Fill out the membership application via the approved electronic form on the Council's website
2. The Membership Committee conducts an initial review of the application and verifies document completeness and compliance within 10 business days
3. Applications meeting the requirements are referred to the Board of Directors for a reasoned decision of approval, conditional approval, or rejection
4. In case of rejection, the applicant may submit a review request within 15 days of notification
5. The applicant is notified of the final decision electronically via the registered email
6. After approval and completion of subscription procedures, the member is listed in the Council's records and granted an official membership number
General Conditions:
• The applicant (individual or entity) must be legally registered and valid in the country of registration
• Have an actual economic or professional activity related to Syrian-Chinese cooperation
• Enjoy a good professional reputation with no final court judgments affecting honor or integrity
• Comply with the Council's approved professional code of conduct, conflict of interest, and data protection policies
• Pass compliance and verification procedures (KYC/AML), not listed on major international sanctions lists
Documents Required After Approval:
• Commercial register or equivalent
• Tax number or tax registration certificate
• Legal representative ID or passport
• Authorization or official representation letter
• Statement of main owners or partners
• (Optional) Business profile or company introduction
Yes. The Board of Directors determines annual subscription categories and the benefits associated with each category (members, clubs, specialized programs).
The subscription policy is presented in the annual budget for ratification according to approved regulatory frameworks.
Subscriptions are paid at the beginning of each fiscal year and are regulated according to regulatory provisions circulated to all Council members.
Yes. The Council allows:
• Joining specialized clubs
• Participating in programs and events
• Benefiting from some services
This does not require General Assembly membership, which is subject to special conditions according to the bylaws.
