Syrian–Chinese Business Council Explores Green Industry Investment Opportunities in Beijing

The President of the Syrian–Chinese Business Council, Mr. Fadi Al-Ahmad, and members of the Council’s delegation participated in a specialized economic meeting held in Beijing to discuss Syrian–Chinese cooperation and investment opportunities in the field of green industries, in the presence of Mr. Zakaria Lababidi, Chargé d’Affaires at the Syrian Embassy in China, and representatives of more than twenty specialized Chinese companies and institutions.
The meeting was hosted by the Belt and Road Eco-Industry Cooperation Working Community, affiliated with the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF). The two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in renewable energy, water treatment, waste and resource management and recycling, and green infrastructure, in line with the development and reconstruction needs of Syria.
During the meeting, the Syrian–Chinese Business Council presented a range of available investment opportunities and projects in Syria across the sectors of energy, industry, infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, and tourism, with the aim of connecting them with suitable Chinese companies, expertise, and technologies, and working to transform them into viable partnerships and investment projects.
The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Syrian–Chinese Business Council and the Belt and Road Eco-Industry Cooperation Working Community, establishing a framework for institutional cooperation and the exchange of expertise, and enhancing communication between Syrian investment opportunities and specialized Chinese companies.
Mr. Fadi Al-Ahmad emphasized that the next phase requires moving from introducing opportunities to building actual and sustainable partnerships and projects, highlighting the importance of benefiting from Chinese expertise and technology in supporting industrial development and infrastructure in Syria, and strengthening the role of the Syrian–Chinese Business Council as an effective link between institutions, companies, and investors in both countries.
